June '13 - Week in the Life - Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, & Day 7

Day Three - Wednesday, June 12th

Day Four - Thursday, June 13th
Day Five - Friday, June 14th
Day Six - Saturday, June 15th
Day Seven - Sunday, June 16th

First of all, I am so sorry that I haven't posted again! It's been such a hectic week and I wasn't even able to get any pictures :( I'm so sorry!!! Anyway, on to the rest of my week...

Wednesday -------

Today is pay day for the construction company. Also, I run payroll for my Aunt's daycare center every other week and this was her day as well. When I run payroll it takes about four hours. I have to enter hours, figure out taxes, garnishments, other deductions, do a banking transfer, submit payments for child support and wage garnishments, I have to print and mail pay stubs, and pay workers compensation. I also have to submit the hours to our Quickbooks system to be billed to our customers. It's kinda hectic, but it's my favorite day of the week!!!

This weekend is my cousin's graduation party - today we had to bake 4 dozen cupcakes to freeze so we can frost them Saturday morning.

Hailey had swimming lessons this evening - she's progressing so much! I'm very proud of her.

After swimming I met with an acquaintance about selling Thirty-One products. We got together at Tim Horton's and I think in July I might start selling to try and gain some extra money!

Thursday -------

Today I had to get up early to work at daycare as a sub for my aunt. I had to be there by 6:30 am and found that I do work better if I get up earlier... Who knew?!?!?

Because I got up so early I tried to just throw my hair up... I used one of those "hair donuts" to make a bun and it worked out well! If your hair is long enough you should try it! I got mine at Sally's Beauty Supply for like $4.

I got to take care of some really cute babies at the daycare :) Then I went back to the office to answer some e-mails and return some phone calls.

I got my hair cut (about 4 inches) and I got some bangs as well. It's nice and summery and I'm quite happy about it.

Friday -------

It's time to get ready for the party!!!!! We had to cut up veggie trays, prepare pasta salad, and set up tables. We had to do other things as well, but it took practically all day!

Hailey had her last swim lesson of the session tonight - she advanced from one class to another! So I signed her up for another round for the next two weeks :)

We stopped at Wal Mart after swimming and bought "Oz the Great and Powerful" then went home to watch it. Hailey and I stayed up kind of late to finish it. She loved it but I was not that impressed. Eh, oh well! That's all that happened today lol So boring!

Saturday -------

IT'S PARTY TIME!

Seriously, lol, that's all we did ALL DAY!

Sunday -------

I recovered from the party ;)

I'm sorry that my WitL posts were not that detailed, and practically pictureless!

Cheers!

June '13 - Week in the Life - Day 1 & Day 2

June 2013 Week in the Life
Day One - Monday, June 10th
Day Two - Tuesday, June 11th

Hello ladies :) I'm so happy to hear what everyone's been up to!!! I miss you guys so much!

Hope you don't mind two days rolled in to one - I haven't really done much of anything. That always happens with us though, doesn't it? ;)

Monday-------

I started a new job in December - right after Christmas - in my uncles construction company. I'm an administrative assistant/office manager/whatever-needs-doing-I-get-it-done. I answer the phone, invoice customers, order materials, run payroll, clean, etc. It's nice because it's in his home (which they just built and, oh my gosh, it's beautiful) and I can take Hailey with me and she'll just ride to daycare with my Aunt.

Anyway, so Monday was like any other. I got to work, made my breakfast, checked and responded to e-mails, filed things from the fax machine, paid some bills, and did a little light cleaning.

Me at work on Monday.  Lazy hair day!
By this time it was about 11:30 so I took some time to plan a few things that are happening soon.

I am hosting a Premier Jewelry party on the 25th to help my good friend, Leah, who just became a "jeweler" with this home sales company. It's really pretty stuff and reasonably priced. So, I needed to plan refreshments, finalize the guest list, and send out invitations.

My best friend, Taylor, is getting married on September 13th - I'm a bridesmaid (which is why I started exercising, more on that in a bit) and I've been, or actually put myself, in charge of her bridal shower. We are doing a Tea Party theme for about 35-40 people on July 20th. We haven't started hardly any planning, lol, so I've been trying to organize some of that in my free time.

The rest of the work day went by with little else happening.
My work space.

Currently, Hailey is taking swimming lessons at our local YMCA on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Fridays, so we had to go to that. She had a good time.
Hailey Lynn at swimming lessons.
After swimming we came home and had dinner with my mom and my sister - it was scalloped potatoes and ham; Hailey's favorite!

Then it was time for a bath and for Hailey to go to bed.

Now, here's a funny story for you... My sister ended up taking a bubble bath upstairs. I was using the downstairs bathroom when she started draining the tub. All of a sudden I though a spider was touching my bum so I jumped up... My toilet was FILLED with bubbles from her bath!!!! It was nuts!

After the "excitement" of the plumbing I went and did my new work-out, INSANITY! with Shawn T. IT WAS SO HARD. And I only had to do the "fit test" part for the first day. I'm so overweight and out of shape that it is very difficult for me to do one rep of anything. I need to focus on my exercise and diet so I can look good for my best friend's wedding. All the other bridesmaids are so pretty and thin and I don't want to stick out :(

Tuesday -------

No pictures today - I don't know where the day went!!!

Again, I got up and went to work - no big deal. I got the office things done and then my uncle asked me if I would mind cleaning the basement because they are going to start hanging drywall in there next week. We are all also in cleaning mode this week because my cousin graduated from high school on June 2nd and his graduation party is this weekend. The house has no grass yet, it's still growing, and parts of things aren't completely finished yet. They built a closet under their steps that I call the "Harry Potter Cupboard" and we had to drywall over it today because the door won't be in for a few weeks and they want it to look nice for the party. I was sad :( But, it looks like I'll be painting tomorrow! That'll be fun.

It took me about 2 hours to move things and sweep up the basement. Tomorrow I'll be mopping to get the rest of the dirt and dust up. It's just a cement floor but Hailey and my god-daughter, Franklyn, like to go down there with scooters and they've been tracking dust back upstairs.

Then my aunt came home and told me to stop working so we could have tea, banana bread, and watch Days of Our Lives (she DVR's it every day). I was TOTALLY okay with that ;)

After that we cleaned out the garage and I stayed for dinner. Came home, worked out (owwwwwwwww), and now I'm doing this.

Hopefully I didn't bore you :) I'll try to get tomorrow posted quicker too!

Cheers!

A Week in the Life - Note to my Friends

Hello ladies :)

I just wanted to put up this little note so that you would know that for each WitL day, the blog post about it will go up the following day (hopefully before noon, eastern time).

So, please be on the lookout tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11th, 2013, for what happened to me today.

Cheers!

Thursday, May 16, 2013

HELLO Thursday

hoi! weekend --- boy weekend, do I have some big plans for you. It's Hailey's last dance practice Saturday morning, so we're saying goodbye to being awake by 7! Aunt Deb, Emma, and I will be scrap-booking for Sam's graduation party while we watch my new DVD series collection of Sex & the City!(thanks ebay). It's also the season finale of Doctor Who - we're going to FINALLY learn the Doctor's name!

hoi! family --- I can't get through my weeks without my awesome family support. My Mom, I couldn't get through the day without her; and my cousin, Angie, who helps me out with Hailey all the time. They're all amazing and I love them dearly.

hoi! crafting --- I haven't crocheted in almost a month and my fingers are itching to finish my Doctor Who slippers and start a slipper basket for Aunt Deb's new house. My goal is to create about twenty pairs of slippers in children's, women's, and men's sizes so no one tracks dirt in on her new wood floors! I'm also working on a Doctor Who cross stitch pattern which I'm very excited about!

hoi! twitter --- You're the one thing that I don't use enough but I love! There are so many things to express and take in. And all without the prying eyes of family, teachers, and "friends" that surround my Facebook. I am gearing up to use you more, sir!

hoi! penpal --- Last month I signed up for the International Geek Girl Pen Pals Club and I made a new friend! I love writing letters, so this is one of the greatest things for me. I signed up for the June round yesterday and I can't wait to meet another new friend. I'm also dabbling with the idea of making my own paper for stationery this time around ;) I'll have to look on Pinterest!!!

doei! junk food --- I need to work on this.

doei! eating after 9 pm --- This also.

doei! being negative --- I'm a pessimist with an optimist's heart. I want to see the good in things but my instincts tell me that "that'll never happen". I really want to work on this more.

This weeks hello [hoi] and goodbye [doei] are brought to you by the Dutch language.

Until next time,

Megan
