I Keep My Jealousy Close Cause It's All Mine

Day Three - Wednesday March 21st, 2012

Today I woke up at 4 am, showered, got ready for work then had to wake up the Hailey! My dad usually takes her to daycare for me when I work day shift but today he had to take my Grandma and her dogs to the vet. I drove Hails over to my Aunt Debbie's house so she could take her to daycare around 9. Hailey Lynn is not happy when woken up before the sun is shining!

I rode to work with my Mom today - she's an RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab and an ICU nurse. I work on the Telemetry (heart monitor) floor so we usually end up working together a lot. It saves gas if we ride together when we can.

Once again I had full intention of taking pictures of my work place but we were so busy again today. Tomorrow is the last day I work before the weekend so hopefully I can get some pics!

After we left work we stopped at the State Store for alcohol, lol. My mom golfs with her sisters on Wednesday evenings in the summer time and they usually drink when they do it. She got a bottle of Captain Morgan's and I got a little bottle of Strawberry Arbor Mist :)

Then we picked up Hailey and went home.

Mom went golfing and Hailey and I headed in to Meadville to get her some short sleeved shirts. With 3 girl cousins just about a year older than her she gets 98% of her clothes through hand-me-downs. But, the weather is so warm and we don't have any short sleeves!!!! So we had to go fix that quickly!

We had to go to Wal*Mart to start with... I also had to pick her up some new underthings, socks, and a jacket.

We got a couple things for her best friend, Kaitlyn's, birthday party which is this Saturday at a bowling alley. My mom is going to have to take her because I work :(

I also picked up a couple summer dresses for cheap and some hair dye to start the warm weather!

I have a rule with my hair, lol - in the Spring/Summer I'm a red head! In the Fall/Winter I'm a brown or mahogany. So it's time to break out the red!!!

After Wal*Mart we tried K*Mart for t-shirts and had a few successes.

Then we went to Apple-bee's with a friend of mine that works at the daycare.

After dinner we stopped at the Shoe Department and I got the BEST RUNNING/EXERCISE SHOES EVER!!!

these are my new Skeletoes!
After we got my sweet shoes we came home and had a little treat :) Which happens to be my #marchphotoaday pic for the day!

Then Hailey went to bed and I started this

and currently look like this

Tomorrow I'll post a pic of it all dry and pretty!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Until next time,

Turn Off the Lights and Turn Off the Shyness

Day Two - Tuesday March 20th, 2012

Good evening everyone! I was so happy to read what everyone was doing with their lives yesterday :)
I was surprised that my friend Melissa, who lives in Montana, had snow yesterday while I was enjoying the sunshine! Crazy country we live in.

Anyway... Like I said yesterday - in a comment, I think - I am way more productive when I wake up early. So, today when I got up at 8:30 it caused me to be SUPER LAZY today lol

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, Hailey has preschool 9-12:30 at her daycare. If I don't work I still take her in for school time. Today was my day off so she should have been there by 9 - It was like 9:10 when we arrived. I'm telling you - lazy.

Okay, so after I dropped her off I came home to shower and get a few bills ready for the mail. I had to have my car to this car dealership / automotive garage, Lake View Ford - which is where I bought it - to have the oil changed and a noise investigated by 10:00. Now, you're supposed to have the oil changed every 3,000 miles - I was at almost 5,000 since my last one. NOT GOOD! They looked at everything they could and said nothing was wrong and they couldn't hear anything. If I hear it again I'm supposed to drive over there immediately and let them hear it. Lucky for me it's literally 60 seconds from my house.

Because I was a few minutes late and they took their time investigating the "noise" - lol - I was waiting there for about an hour. The dealership sits right across from the lake that is in the center of my town, Conneaut Lake, so I decided to go for a little walk. I took a picture of the lake but somehow I just deleted it trying to get it from my iPhone to the laptop. Grrrrrrrrr. So, here is a picture I found on GoogleImages and edited it in Microsoft Paint!

Okay so after that I came home and crocheted a few more things for Etsy and watched Supernatural on Netflix. I've never seen this show before but my cousins told me that I would love it so I've started it from the beginning. I have 6 seasons to watch, yey!

I also got caught up on a few of my favorite YouTube channels. This guy is NicePeter. He makes great videos and some funny Epic Rap Battles of History, WHICH YOU SHOULD WATCH!

Sorry for my reflection and terrible light fixture in the pic :(

At 12:20 I left to go get Hailey. Her daycare/preschool - which I used to work at until I got my job at the hospital - is in the basement of our church. Yes, I'm sure you can tell, but I'm Catholic.

I was greeted by this little lady as soon as I walked in.

We came home and I made myself some lunch. Baby greens with grapes, apples, walnuts, and feta with raspberry vinaigrette.

Then - to add to my lazy day - took a nap. Now, when I nap, I nap hard. I slept from 2-6 today. DAY WASTED. Grrrrrr again.

When I woke up we had dinner, fish and tater tots and I made vanilla pudding with bananas and vanilla wafers. So yummy.

I watched Raising Hope with my mom and then gave Hails a tubby and put her to bed.

After that I crocheted and watched more Supernatural then decided to do this real quick lol

Also, through Allie's blog I've subscribed to this other blog - she*sCRAFTY - who started doing this photoaday thing from fat mum slim's blog.

I know March is almost over, but I started doing the photoaday today - it was "before/after".

I edited this picture on my phone with this totally awesome app - PicFrame. I love it!

I wanted to share this with you guys -- Last night after I posted I ended up downloading a bunch of new music on iTunes. Here's what I bought :

"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" by The Andrews Sisters
"It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" by Duke Ellington
"Mr. Sandman" by The Chordettes
"In the Mood" by Glen Miller
"I Got Rhythm ("Girl Crazy" Original Cast)" by Judy Garland
"Sisters (White Christmas)" by Rosemary Clooney, Irving Berlin & Betty Clooney
"Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" by The Andrews Sisters

I was in an old fashioned mood I guess!

Well, I work day shift the next two days - Wish me luck!

Until next time,

We Live on Front Portches and Swing Life Away

Hello!!!! Time for A Week in the Life again!

I'm excited :) Ready? Set?? GO!!!

Day One - Monday March 19th, 2012

the hospital i work at
Started off this fine morning by waking up at 4:30 am to get ready for work. Shower, getting dressed, hair done... Leave the house at 6 to be there by 6:30. On my way there I listened to "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire and "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against. They wake me up and make me smile.
my drive to work
me driving home
When I got to work I had the intention of taking pictures of where I work and all that... However, we were getting an admission to my nursing unit as soon as I arrived and the day never slowed down! When I work day shift it's 6:30-3:00. I made it out on time, even with the busy day - which is like a miracle!!!

On my drive home it was so nice out (in the high 60s / low 70s - in MARCH) I got to roll down the windows and just relax.

I stopped by the post office to check my mail and ran into a guy I graduated high school with - way back in 2007 lol - who is a police officer now. We ended up talking for 45 minutes and I was late to pick Hailey up from the daycare... Whoops!

When we got home I changed out of my uniform and decided to take Hailey to the park for a little bit. We were there for a little over an hour then came home to decide what to have for dinner.

We have this really great and popular hot dog place called "Eddy's" that opened last week. Quick, no-clean up dinner? Yes, please!

Hailey enjoying her hot dog
After that it was like 8:00 and I felt like working on some crochet things for my Etsy store. Right now I'm working on different colored hair bows for little - and big - girls.

I have a lot of days off next week and I plan on photographing all the stuff I've made recently and uploading it to my Etsy store. I want to display these bows on the super adorable bird cage I found at Michael's in Erie a few weeks ago.

birdcage - a light blue color - love it!
Now, I'm going to listen to some music, crochet a little more, and enjoy a little sweet treat for my great day :)

my treat!
Until next time,

ps- I've been using Instagram for a lot of my pictures, but not all of them... I love the way they look though!

The Answer is Blowing in the Wind

Gosh, I love Bob Dylan...

So... Yeah, the exercise thing. Still doing it. Not blogging because I SUCK AT LIFE.  I've been doinga  Richard Simmons tape "Disco Sweat" it's awesome.

But, this Sunday - February 5th - I'm starting something new! With the help of my friend, Alicia, I'm doing a  90 day challenge through Team Beachbody. I purchased the TurboJam system that I've commited to using 5-6 days a week - my plan is also to run 3 days a week.

I want to lose 15 pounds in 90 days, kick my Dr.Pepper addiction, and eat more raw fruits/veggies.

We shall see.

In other news... I've been re-pinning my life away on Pinterest. Are you following my boards??? They're great - lol. I spent over an hour re-organizing and de-cluttering.

I'm relying on Pinterest for new foods and recipies to try during this challenge. I also use it for crafts!

I did the following art project like 3 months ago and was super happy with how it turned out.

The original post is here. But, I did mine slightly different.

Start with supplies:

Then I removed the wrapping from the crayons I was using and hot glued them to my canvas... This took the longest - about 45 minutes.

Then I took my canvas out to the garage, fired up my hair dryer, turned it upside down and went to town melting the crayons.

After it cooled/dried - about a half hour - I hot glued my flowers on.

Violia! I love it so much. I'm going to try another one with the reds/pinks I have left over.

Until next time,

I Think We're Alone Now

Megan's Weight Loss Journal Thingy-Jingy

Goal: Lose 60 pounds
Start Weight: 189 lbs
Start Day: Monday January 9th, 2012
Lost So Far: 0.5 lbs :)
Today's Date: Tuesday January 10th, 2012

Today I was cancelled from work; yeyyyyyyyyy! So I didn't have anything planned to do and that's exactly what I ended up doing. Not good for the weight loss goal!

I started out by waking up late, since I didn't have to be at work by 6:30. I took Hailey to preschool at 9 then came home and sort of loafed on the couch. I didn't feel very well but I think it's because I started taking my diet pills again last night. They are called healthe trim (get high school skinny!).

I was never a very regimented person, but I think at my ripe old age of twenty-two I require a few pills at specific times to help keep me going :) I take 2 of the diet pills when I wake up and another 1 around lunch time. Before bed I take 4 mg of Melatonin to help me sleep and keep me calm and I also take 1 Prevacid so I don't get heartburn/indigestion.

Anyways... So while Hailey was at school I read a Twilight fanfic on my iPhone. It's called The Learning Curve by Amethyst Jackson. It's a 'drabble' fic, so all the chapters are quite short, but there are 77 of them currently and it's still publishing. By the looks of things she updates daily, which I like very much. Here's the summary, incase you are looking for something new to read.

AU and AH. Short chapters with daily updates. When Bella's boyfriend brings up the issue of her virginity with his ex, she decides to take charge of her own fate.

It starts out as a Bella/Mike story but quickly changes to Bella/Edward. All other cannon couples. It's a high school fic, which is my cup of tea! You should check it out if you are a Twi-fic reader!

So after I read that, it was 12:20 and that meant I had ten minutes to go get Hailey from preschool. We came back and it was nap time for the little lady. I turned on Finding Nemo for her and she was out like a light. Next thing I knew, so was I! I was started awake by the dogs barking like crazy which usually indicates that someone is at the house. It was my mom coming home from work... Which made me realize that it was 3:45!!! Holy crap, day wasted!

When my mom comes home and I haven't been at work, we usually sit and talk about everything that happened since we work at the same hospital. All the gossip, hehe. But today she asked me if there was anything good at the theater since it's Tuesday (bargain day!!!). Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows was still there and I have wanted to see it since the preview came out so long ago! So, she told me I should go and that's exactly what I did. IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!

Moving along (am I boring you yet?!?!) I got home around 7:30 and gave Hails a quick tubby so we could sit and watch Glee at 8. It was a re-run! No fun. After it was over I put her to bed and had a quick shower.

Then I decided I was too tired (from all that HARD work, lol) to do too much in the way of exercise, so I alternated jumping jacks and arm weights for 15 minutes then stretched as a cool off.

Tomorrow I'm breaking out this super awesome old VHS tape I have to exercise with. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow!!!

Until next time.

PS- I would like to say a very big THANK YOU to my friend, Allie (ZoeBean Creations) for commenting, being super supportive, and for having great song recs yesterday! <3

Baby, I Was Born This Way

I don't know what happened this evening, but I just decided that I was going to get up and exercise.

After thinking about it a little bit I figured out that if I was obligated in some way to tell people what I was doing, I might be more motivated to actually get things done.

So, here I am... Hopefully I'll maintain and put up everyday what I'm doing.

Megan's Weight Loss Journal Thingy-Jingy

Goal: Lose 60 pounds
Start Weight: 189 lbs
Start Day: Monday January 9th, 2012
Lost So Far: 0 lbs

1/9/12: I started with a little yoga that I found on Netflix. I only got through the first 15 minutes, but it was something. And my heart was def. pumping! Then I moved on to a little cardio alternating between jumping jacks and running in place. I did that for like 8 minutes. Then I took my pair of 5 pound weights and worked out my arms for another 5. Since I haven't done any physical activity in so long, this was enough to wipe me out! I did a little cool down stretching and decided to stop for the day.

#minor goal- stop drinking pop (started today by drinking a little grape flavored water packet thingy in my reusable plastic cup that I got for Christmas).

I just tried making a workout playlist on my iTunes with the music I already have... I'm calling it 'Cardio-Go-Go". Here's what's on it so far:

1. Born This Way / Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now - Chimpmunks/Chipettes
2. Like a G6 - Far East Movement
3. Raise Your Glass - Pink
4. Yeah 3X - Chris Brown
5. Bulletproof - La Roux
6. Forever Yours (Blue Version) - Alex Day
7. What the Hell - Avril Lavigne
8. I Think We're Alone Now - Countdown Singers (stupid 80s dance party remix thing)
9. Party Rock Anthem - Chimpmunks/Chipettes
10. S.O.S. - Chimpmunks/Chipettes
11. Say Hey - Chimpmunks/Chipettes

Hailey got the new Alvin and the Chipmunks soundtrack for Christmas, hence those songs. Anyone know of any other songs that would go well on this list??? Let me know! And wish me luck, please!

Until next time.

New Year, Same Goal

Anyone still here? Anyone?? Bueller...?

Yes, so... As we can all tell, I've failed at the whole blogging thing. Why, you may ask? Well, to be straight to the point, I am an incredibly lazy, forgetful, unorganized individual. Just ask my seven on-going 'To-Do' lists and my four year old... "Mommy, are you EVER going to get my chocolate milk? I asked for it TWO Backyardigans ago!"

Okay... So it's the new year.

2012... Some say it's the Earth's last year. Apocalypse, yadda-yadda-yadda... I don't know. I'll most likely forget what December 21st is supposed to mean on the day it arrives. I'll be obivious to whatever happens or doesn't happen.

I used to do new years resolutions... Until I realized that I had the same ones every year... Obviously, they never got accomplished, so why should I keep making these unobtainable promises? I have no self control. I always want to lose weight, be more active in volunteering, spend more time with my family, be nicer to others, blah, blah, blah, etc...

This year, I just want to prioritize my online life and my real one.

I don't know how many people can sympathize with my situation, but when I started becoming active in the online fanfiction community, I totally hid it from everyone. My daughter was just about one year old, I wasn't working very much, and I was just getting used to the fact that her dad wasn't going to be coming back. I drowned my sorrows the way I had my whole life... By reading a book. The book happened to be Twilight, followed very quickly by the other three in the series. I still needed more. I went to Meyer's website and found TwilightMoms from there. I posted a few things and somehow stumbled upon fanfiction. From there, I got hooked on Twilighted and A Different Forest.

On top of that, someone posted a campfire on ADF about some cute Brittish guy reading Twilight on YouTube (Alex Day aka nerimon). He was so effing funny... I watched all the videos he had posted. In a lot of them he talked about his friend, Charlie, who also was a YouTuber. So I then watched all of charlieissocoollike's video's. Then he was talking about this Trok band that he and Alex were in called Chameleon Circuit. At this point, I was becoming an internet fangirl so I just ordered their CD and fell in love. Now, I'm sure you're wondering what Trok is... Time Lord Rock. Time Lords... Doctor Who. Excellent British scifi show... That I had to go and watch gagillion episodes of on Netflix.

Charlie and Alex also introduced me to vlogbrothers John and Hank Green. John is an excellent author (cue me ordering and reading all of his books) and Hank is a great musician (cue me ordering and listening to all his music). They, in turn, have introduced me to a million other internet things via the nerdfighteria community and all the things and people that DFTBA (Don't Forget To Be Awesome).

The fanfiction community has introduced me to Harry Potter fics (as I was already a HP lover since Sorcerer's Stone was published) and now The Hunger Games series and fanfics.

My Twilight mini-obsession prompted me to a lovely three day vacation to Seattle and Forks, Washington a few years ago. I've spent over one thousand dollars on merchandise and online gift trades.

I've met a lot of people who I would now consider my closest friends via the internet. They've got me stuck on Pinterest now, too.

I even beta (edit) fanfiction stories for Project Team Beta.

This has literally taken over the last four years of my life... AND NO ONE IN MY REAL LIFE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT ANY OF IT.

I am constantly gripped at by my mother for always being on my laptop or iPhone "fiddling around" as she says. But I'm reading fic or posting on the forums or checking new campfires or watching YouTube videos or so many other things!!!

I don't know how to stop any of it but I know my family will think I'm a serious freak if I tell them anything about it.

I just need to learn balance, but I don't know how.

Now, I'm rambling... I'll be back in a few days, but I'm just glad I got this out there. So now someone knows where it all started and why I JUST CAN'T STOP!

Until next time.
